Sign up for a free plan or a basic plan. Signing up is secure and only takes a few seconds.
KEY: when signing up, you’ll choose a NextProof.com web address. This will be a subdomain like edphoto.nextproof.com. Once your account is created, all account activity will take place at this address (not at www.nextproof.com).
After creating your account, visit your new nextproof.com web address and click the Log in link.
Categories are used to organize the images in your galleries (ex: “Getting ready”, “Ceremony”, or “Landscapes”). Click the Categories link and then click New category. Give your new category a name and click Save changes.
After creating a few new categories, click the Products link. Products are the prints, digital files, and other merchandise you plan to sell in your galleries. Click Add product and create some products.
KEY: If you plan to sell digital negatives or stock photography, create at least 1 product with the This is a downloadable file box checked. If you plan to sell items not attached to a specific image (ex: a gift album or print package), we call this merchandise. Simply check the This is merchandise box when creating such a product.
Ok, you’re now ready to create your first gallery. Simply click the Create new gallery button. Give your gallery a name, theme, and description.
Next, you can set the access and security options for your new gallery. Your gallery can require registration or a password. You can also set opening and closing dates for your gallery.
Finally, you can select the products you wish to sell for your new gallery.
KEY: you can always change the access options or add new products to your gallery later.
After creating your new gallery, you’ll see it listed in your control panel. Click the 0 images link and then click Add images. You’ll see the web upload screen.
Click the green + button to add images to the file upload queue. You can upload multiple files at once. Use the category menu to select the category for the images you’re uploading. All uploaded images will be automatically assigned to the category you select.
Once you’ve completed uploading, click the Galleries link at the top of the control panel. You should see your new gallery listed. Click the name of your new gallery to open it in a new window.
KEY: this will be the web address you’ll share with customers and visitors. Visitors will be prompted to register or enter a password if you chose those options.
There are additional settings and features to explore (such as featured images, coupon codes, and email recipients), but these steps should get you on your way. Happy proofing.
